ABKC Sangam Durgotsab 2026: Cultural Program, Competitions & Volunteer Call

Sangam’s much-awaited Durgotsab is just around the corner, and Sangam is thrilled to share that this year’s celebration will once again bring three days of vibrant festivities, music, dance, laughter, and fun. As always, Sangam takes immense pride in highlighting the incredible talent within its own community.

This year, local artists’ performances will be held on Saturday and Sunday evening, followed by special attraction segments featuring eminent singers and musicians from India.

In addition to the performances, Sangam will host a variety of interactive games and activities throughout the day for both adults and children — ensuring fun, engagement, and memorable moments for everyone.

Cultural Program details: Individuals and groups interested in participating in cultural programs are warmly invited to submit their proposals by September 30th, 2026. Any late submission after 09/30/2026 will only be considered if a time slot is available. Please be informed that proposals will be selected strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. Please review the mandatory instructions prior to submission to ensure smooth selection of your program.

  1. Duration should be within 3–5 minutes. For a compiled program, duration may be extended based on the discretion of the Sangam cultural committee.
  2. No duplicate performance (e.g. same song) will be allowed, and entries will be chosen in the order they are received (first come, first served basis).
  3. Multiple entries from the same participant will only be considered if a time slot is available once all proposals are reviewed.
  4. Line-up will be decided by the committee and deemed final; the line-up will be sent one week prior to the event.
  5. Audio tracks (MP3 format only) and any additional requirements (lights, stage, announcement, etc.) need to be emailed to Sangam by 09/30/2026.

Please include the following details in your submission:

  • Performance Title
  • Type of Performance (singing, dancing, recitation, musical instruments, etc.)
  • Participant Names and if solo/duet/group
  • Duration
  • Name of teacher/choreographer/mentor (optional)
  • A two-line description of your performance (optional)

Games and other activities details: This year’s Durga Puja celebrations will feature a vibrant lineup of themed competitions and fun activities for all ages. Winners will be announced on Sunday evening.

  • Enthusiastic participants are invited to join Durga Puja themed competitions — two for women and one for men. A maximum of 10 entries will be accepted per competition. Duplicate entries will only be considered if a slot is available.
  • Sangam also seeks any budding artists interested in volunteering for children’s face painting, or any energetic danseuse who wants to join for the garba and dandiya. Please reach out for more information.

Please send your participation request for any of the Durga Puja events (cultural program, competitions, face painting, dandiya/garba) to Dr. Dithi Banerjee Bose at dithi02@gmail.com, and cc cultural.sangam@gmail.com.
