KCTCA’s 9th Annual Bonalu Festival & Chetla Kindha Vantalu — 08/02
The Kansas City Telangana Cultural Association (KCTCA) is delighted to announce its 9th Annual Bonalu Festival & Chetla Kindha Vantalu, taking place on Sunday, August 2, 2026. Due to the weather, this year’s celebration will be held at Heritage Park, Shelter #9, located at 16050 S. Pflumm Rd., Olathe, KS 66062, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. It is a vibrant festival showcasing Telangana culture, marked by traditional music, dances like the Potharaju dance, and colorful processions.
The program schedule includes the Bonam Procession at 4:45 PM, followed by Cultural Programs at 6:30 PM, with Prasadam Distribution to follow. On behalf of the KCTCA Executive Committee and Board of Directors, the community is cordially invited, along with family and friends, to attend and be part of this special and auspicious celebration. Business vendors are warmly welcome to set up booths to showcase and sell their products and services throughout the event.
KCTCA has been celebrating Bonalu for the past 8 years with passion and dedication to preserving its rich culture and tradition, and is proud to present the festival for the 9th year in a row. As part of tradition, Bonam and Prasadam will be offered to Goddess Mahankali, and those who observe this tradition are welcome to bring prasadam as an offering. Bonalu is traditionally celebrated with the vibrant colors yellow and red, symbolizing devotion and festivity, and attendees are encouraged to wear these colors in the spirit of this cherished occasion.
All are invited to attend this cultural floral festival celebration — entry is free, and free prasadams will be served. KCTCA looks forward to celebrating this joyous occasion with the community and their families.
