Kathak Kadam Shares Student Milestones: India Nite Prep, Fellowship Wins, and a Portfolio Showcase

Students at Kathak Kadam are preparing for India Nite on November 1st, 2026, one of the community’s most anticipated cultural evenings. Rehearsals are building toward a performance that reflects the discipline, precision, and artistry the studio is known for. Each dancer is refining their technique and stage presence, and the studio looks forward to sharing the evening with families and friends across Kansas City.

Two Kathak Kadam students have been selected for fellowships at Indian Raga, a recognition of their dedication and progress. The studio is proud of this achievement, which reflects the consistent practice and commitment its students bring to every class.

Kathak Kadam recently held a portfolio photoshoot for students who will graduate from the beginner level within the next few months. Rather than simply taking photos and hanging posters, the studio chose to document each dancer’s journey so they can showcase it during their Ranga Manch Pravesh. Portfolio shoots are offered every year or every other year, depending on parent interest. In addition, Guru Surekha performed on the opening night of the Chicago South Asian Film Festival, bringing the studio’s artistry to a wider audience.
