Sangam was established in 1995. Sangam has served the Kansas City Bengali speaking community in various ways. Sangam is a pioneer of promoting Bengali Culture in the Midwest Region. Since 1996, Sangam has organized several Bengali Cultural Events like Midwest Bengali Conferences/Banga Mela and served the community by promoting Bengali Culture and Education. Through those various Banga Mela, Sangam brought many music & theater stalwarts, such as, Soumitra Chatterjee, Nandikar Theater Group (Rudraprasad Sengupta, Swatilekha Sengupta, Sohini Sengupta, Debshankar Halder), Sayak Theater Group (Meghnad Bhattacharya), Feroza Begum, Rezwana Bannya Choudhuri, Samit Bhanja, Lopamudra Mitra, Madhabi Mukherjee, Sabitri Chatterjee, Kabir Suman, Sabina Yasmin, Srikanta Acharya, Saoli Nitra, Pramita Mallick, Indranil Sen, Shubhomita Banerjee and many other esteemed artists.
