Dr. Sastry Garu with thorough research of Bhagavad-Gita, the spiritual essence of Indian philosophy over a period of decade is the first singer who rendered all 700 verses of Gita with a brief explanation of each verse. Sastry Gari’s proven ability of exceptional communication skills of passing abstract knowledge in simple terms, melodious voice, musical tone, and reverberating presentation skills earned him appreciation from towering personalities like Dr. APJ Kalam and many more. He received several awards and appreciation. He also received the Kala Ratna award from the government of Andhra Pradesh in 2017.
