Candle Light Vigil at the Gurudwara on Friday August 10th 8:45 pm |
| The Kansas City Sikh Community mourns the loss of our fellow Sikh members from the Community of Oak Tree, WI. and pray (Ardaas) for speedy recovery of the ones injured including the Police Officers who put themselves in harm’s way to protect the citizens of the Oak Tree Community.
We share basic principles and values including a commitment to freedom, equality, and justice. Like countless other minority communities, Sikhs have fought through various forms of discrimination, have achieved success in different industries, and have become productive contributors to American society. The Sikh experience in the U.S. is quintessentially American, and as a society we have grown together. We each have our own experiences, yet we all share a similar story of struggle, sacrifice, and success. The local Sikh Community has scheduled a Candle Light Vigil at the Gurudwara on Friday August 10th 8:45 pm and would like to request everyone who can make it to join us.
